US Futures Mixed, European Stocks Rise Ahead of Central-Bank Rates Decisions

In the U.S., futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.4% and
futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.1%.
Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the
opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 climbed 0.5% in morning trading.
Telecom Italia added 9.1% and Publicis Groupe added 7.1%. On the
other hand, Orpea lost 8.8%, and Electrolux Series B dropped 8.3%.
The FTSE 100 added 0.2%. Other stocks in Europe were up as France's
CAC 40 gained 0.6% and Germany's DAX rose 0.7%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.2% to 94.22.
In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.4% to $83.18 a barrel, and
WTI crude climbed 0.5% to $76.77 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 5.1 basis points to
2.232% from 2.283% and the yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury declined
by 2 basis points to 3.404% from 3.424%. Bond prices and yields
move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan's Nikkei 225 index grew 0.2%,
whereas Hong Kong's Hang Seng was lower 0.5%. China's benchmark
Shanghai Composite was flat.
