FTSE 100 Seen Opening Higher Ahead of Key US GDP Data

0739 GMT - The FTSE 100 is seen opening higher with IG futures data showing the London index of blue-chip stocks rising 26 points. The Bank of Canada on Wednesday signalled it would pause its interest-rate rise cycle and it appears markets reacted on the basis that the Federal Reserve might look to do something similar at next Wednesday's meeting given U.S. stocks turned off their lows overnight, CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson writes. "As a result of yesterday's rebound in U.S. markets, European markets look set to open higher this morning as we look ahead to today's U.S. fourth quarter GDP." The GDP data are due at 1330 GMT.
