FTSE 100 Poised to Rise After Upbeat Asia Trading

0638 GMT - The FTSE 100 looks set to open 32 points higher at 7240, according to IG futures data, after upbeat trading in Asia. Markets in Australia, Hong Kong, mainland China and Japan are all in positive territory. "The European Central Bank's Sintra Forum kicks off Monday, but key speeches from policymakers will probably not come until tomorrow," Danske Bank analysts say in a note. "We'll also look out for more headlines from the G7 summit in Germany amid ongoing discussions on how to resolve the global food crisis and a possible 'price cap' on Russian oil. Later this week, the Riksbank meeting and Chinese PMIs Thursday and euro area inflation figures Friday will be in focus." (philip.waller@wsj.com)
