AXA SA (CS.FR) said Monday that it has appointed Gerald Harlin as chief executive and chairman of its investment management unit.

Mr. Harlin will take over as CEO of AXA Investment Managers on Dec. 1, replacing Andrea Rossi, who is stepping down, the insurer said.

Mr. Rossi will stay on as an advisor to Mr. Harlin, the company added.

AXA also said it appointed Mr. Harlin as chairman of the board of directors of AXA IM with immediate effect. The former chairman Christof Kutscher has stepped down.
