France's Air Liquide SA (AI.FR) is acquiring Malaysian company Southern Industrial Gases Sdn Bhd, it said Thursday.

The industrial-gases producer said the takeover will help increase its footprint in Malaysia and double its local packaged gases filling capacity.

Southern Industrial Gases has an annual revenue of around 80 million Malaysian ringgit($19.1 million) and over 200 employees, Air Liquide said.

The company didn't disclose the financial terms of the deal.
