--Italy's Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G.MI) may make a formal bid for most of the European assets of MetLife Inc. (MET) in a deal that could be valued at roughly 3 billion euros ($3.3 billion), Bloomberg reports, citing unknown sources.

--The offer may come by the end of the year but no final agreement has been reached, according to Bloomberg.
