Norwegian oil-and-gas company Var Energi ASA said Thursday that shareholders Eni International B.V. and HitecVision AS have sold 124.8 million shares in the company, representing around 5.0% of the outstanding shares, at 40.20 Norwegian kroner ($4.24) each.

The company said 29.5 million shares were sold by Eni and 95.4 million shares were sold by HitecVision.

As a result of the offering, the free float in the company will increase to around 16.2% from 11.2%.

Following completion of the offering, Eni holds 1.57 billion shares in the company, representing around 63.1% of the outstanding shares in the company, and HitecVision holds 517.6 million shares, representing around 20.7% of the outstanding shares.

Var Energi shares closed Wednesday at NOK45.87.
