Eni SpA said Friday that it has acquired a portfolio of 13 onshore wind farms in Italy with a total capacity of 315 megawatts from Glennmont Partners and PGGM Infrastructure Fund.

The Italian oil-and-gas company said the portfolio includes 256 wind turbines located in the regions of Sicily, Apulia, Basilicata and Abruzzo.

Through the acquisition, the company is set to reach a total installed wind-power capacity of 350 megawatts in Italy.

"We plan to accelerate growth through selective acquisitions, in particular in those countries where we have an existing broad customer base," said Eni's Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi.
