Eni SpA (ENI.MI) said Wednesday that it has signed an exploration-and-production sharing agreement with BP PLC (BP.LN) for an onshore block in Oman.

During the exploration phase, Eni and BP will each hold a 50% stake, while Eni will act as the operator of the block, it said.

Block 77 covers an area of more than 2,700 square kilometers in central Oman, Eni said.
