The Polish Zloty firmed against the U.S. dollar in European trading on Wednesday, after the Polish central bank held interest rates unchanged at a record low, as expected.

The monetary policy council kept the benchmark interest rate at a record low of 1.5 percent, the bank said in a statement. The rate has been on hold since March 2015.

The Polish Zloty spiked up to 3.8040 versus the greenback, its strongest since May 3. The Polish currency is seen finding resistance around the 3.7 zone. The pair was worth 3.8284 when it ended Tuesday's trading.
