SYDNEY--South32 Ltd. (S32.AU) reported a wide full-year loss,
weighed by impairment charges and weak commodity prices.
The mining company, spun out of BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP.AU)
earlier this year, reported a net loss of US$919 million in its
maiden full-year fiscal report. It said the assets had generated a
statutory profit of US$46 million in the same period a year
earlier.
Shares in the company have been falling since it listed in May,
weighed by uncertainty over its outlook, following one of the
largest corporate breakups in mining history.
