UK Halifax house prices climbed more than expected in June
In the UK, the Halifax house prices advanced 1.80% on a MoM basis in June, compared to a revised rise of 1.20% in the prior month. Markets expectations were for house prices to record a rise of 0.80%.
Germany industrial production advanced less than anticipated in May
In Germany, industrial production rose 0.20% on a MoM basis in May, compared to a revised rise of 1.30% in the previous month. Markets were expecting industrial production to record a rise of 0.40%.
US trade deficit widened in May
In the US, trade deficit widened to $105.00 billion in May, compared to a deficit of $104.30 billion in the prior month.
US initial jobless claims unexpectedly advanced in the week ended 1 July 2022
In the US, initial jobless claims unexpectedly climbed to 235.00 K in the week ended 1 July 2022, compared to a reading of 231.00 K jobs in the previous week. Market anticipations were for initial jobless claims to drop to 230.00 K.
Japanese household spending unexpectedly dropped in May
In Japan, household spending registered a drop of 0.50% on a YoY basis in May, compared to a fall of 1.70% in the prior month. Markets were expecting household spending to record an advance of 2.10%.
