There is the fear that the venture has no profiting expectations. There was no incentive involved. And many people considered Andreessen’s idea useless.

Andreessen assured the safety of people’s personal information on the internet through encryption. Encryption means the conversion of data and information to codes.

Netscape was founded in 1994 by Marc Andreessen. Back then when he founded the company, he was in his early 20s. Netscape is a web service providing company. At that time, no one saw the opportunities that the venture has to offer. In the early 90s, people were afraid of putting their important personal information through the internet. It seems like making one’s personal information public.

The United States Congress also believed that the idea will not work out. It was during this time that Bill Gate, when he went on David Letterman’s show, was made fun of because he kept saying the ‘the next big thing’.

None of the challenges discouraged Andreessen, he forged ahead in pursuit of his ambition.

What Andreesen is Today
He has become a billionaire in tech investment. He is also involved in, big time, crypto. He is a giant, a big bull in cryptocurrency. He was interviewed in a podcast recently where he pointed out the similarities (in challenges faced) between the advent of the internet in the 90s and the advent of crypto in recent years.

Points Andreesen Made During the Interview
In the comparison of the early days of the internet with the advent of crypto, Andreesen pointed out some similar common challenges that were faced.

1. The internet of the early days had to encourage the adoption of the encryption idea. Apart from this, they had to           encourage the masses to adopt the internet.

2.  Many people saw the numerous challenges that the idea of the internet will have to face. Some of the                              challenges were about how to increase the speed of the internet and how to make it affordable for the common              man. Very few people could look beyond and see the opportunities involved in the venture.

3. He forecasted that in the nearest future the world economy will be running on blockchain technology.

Considering the similarities between the challenges that both the internet and crypto have faced and how they are scaling through those challenges, it is easy for us to conclude that blockchain technology also is truely ‘the next big thing’.
