LONDON--British wireless giant Vodafone Group PLC said Friday it
was in talks to acquire European assets from Liberty Global, John
Malone's international cable company.
Vodafone, the world's second-largest mobile carrier by
subscribers behind China Mobile Ltd., said it was in early-stage
discussions and there was no certainty a deal would occur.
A Liberty Global spokesman declined to comment. The Financial
Times reported the discussions earlier Friday.
