Two-day auction attracts 5,000+ bidders from 52 countries; 51% of equipment sold to online buyers

FORT WORTH, TX, Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - This week, Ritchie Bros. was back in Texas for its fourth Fort Worth auction of the year, selling US$50+ million of equipment and trucks for 600+ consignors.

More than 5,000 people from 52 countries registered to bid in the September 25 – 26, 2018 auction, including 3,650 people registering to bid online. U.S. buyers purchased approximately 90 percent of the equipment, including 47 percent purchased by Texas buyers, while international buyers from such countries as Mexico, Australia and the United Kingdom purchased 10 percent of the equipment. Online buyers purchased 51 percent of the assets.  

"Following up on the strong numbers we saw in Houston in August and equipment sold in our recent weekly IronPlanet auctions, we had another great Texas auction this week in Fort Worth," said Neal Black, Regional Sales Manager, Ritchie Bros. "We had a great selection of late-model yellow iron in the auction that performed very well. We also saw strong pricing for transportation gear, including a package of more than 80 like-kind pneumatic bulk trailers that exceeded expectations."

More than 3,850 equipment items were sold in the Fort Worth auction, including 310+ truck tractors, 100+ skid steers, 85+ excavators, 65+ compactors, 60+ loader backhoes, 45+ dozers, as well as cranes, oil and gas-related equipment and more. All items were sold without minimum bids or reserve prices.
