over 25 times, the Megamillions jackpot now stands at a record high
at an estimated $1.6 billion. So, for
anyone interested in winning that massive jackpot, here are some
facts and figures about the MegaMillions gameā¦
- The previous highest jackpot was on 24th
July, 2018 when it reached $522
million.
- MegaMillions changed its format on 28th
October 2017 when the number of main balls chosen fell from
75 to 70, but the Mega Balls increased from 15 to 25, with the aim
of increasing the jackpot.
- The odds of winning the Megamillions jackpot are 1 in
302,575,350
- The odds of winning any prize on MegaMillions is 1 in 24.
- The Megaplier increases non-jackpot prizes by up to five
times.
- The previous largest jackpot was $656
million, shared by three ticket holders on March 30th, 2012. The holders lived in
Illinois, Maryland and Kansas.
- Since the format changed, the most common main-number chosen is

making them the most common pair to have been picked.

been drawn together three times.
- The most overdue number is #53 which was last drawn as long ago
