Hilton Garden Inn in Rancho Cucamonga,
CA whose clients were exposed to bedbugs for a one-night
hotel stay in 2013. The court in San Bernardino County, CA approved the October
jury verdict last week.
Within a few hours of going to sleep the first night of their
stay at the hotel, the McKindra's woke up to bedbugs crawling on
both beds in the hotel room and feeding on their blood. The
whole experience was beyond traumatizing and it continues to this
day. This was something you can never forget, says the
McKindra's.
The McKindra's are a military family who currently live
Arkansas, and were in California to bring their son a car because he
was serving reserve duty in the Air Force.

This was one of the largest bedbug verdicts against a hotel ever
in the United States.
The jury awarded nearly half a million dollars in emotional
distress damages for the traumatic effect the bedbugs had on his
clients. The jury also awarded $50,000 in punitive damages to punish and deter
the Hilton Garden Inn from exposing its guests to bedbugs.
This case is about the clients who needlessly suffered because
of the lack of policies and procedures in place to protect
their hotel guests from bedbugs.
