DALLAS, May 22, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The U.S.
federal court overseeing lawsuits brought against Apple, Inc. for
allegedly intentionally slowing the performance of iPhone 6 and
iPhone 7 models has appointed Dallas law firm Johnston Pratt PLLC to act as
International Liaison Counsel for affected consumers around the
world. Case information is as follows: In Re: Apple Inc. Device
Performance Litigation (MDL 2827).
Judge Edward J. Davila of
the United States District Court
for the Northern District of California issued the order appointing
Johnston Pratt late in the day on May
15. In the order, Judge Davila charged Johnston Pratt,
together with two other law firms to, "monitor any ongoing
litigation in any international courts, and continue to foster
efficiency, minimize duplicative discovery, and avoid management
difficulties."
Judge Davila also directed Johnston Pratt to, "research, make
recommendations . . . and assist in the pursuit of any claims based
on laws outside the United States
or on behalf of Class members residing outside the United States."
In Re: Apple Inc. Device Performance Litigation involves claims
by plaintiffs representing consumers from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the
Netherlands, South Korea,
and Spain.
