CHICAGO, June 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ex
Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that
Eastern Michigan University has gone
live with the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform
integrated with the Ex Libris Summon® discovery service.
The first library to implement this integrated solution,
Eastern Michigan now benefits from
improved resource management workflows and an optimized resource
discovery experience. Alma
replaces the Ex Libris Voyager® integrated library
system while the university has retained Summon as the preferred
discovery service.
Eastern Michigan's migration to
Alma and the unification of the
management and discovery of physical and electronic resources
represent a significant step forward for the university library. It
is already experiencing greater efficiency through the automation
of many processes and the tight integration of services.
"Working with Ex Libris has been an extremely positive
experience, with the company's team meeting all our needs and
timelines," commented Jackie Wrosch,
systems librarian at Eastern Michigan
University. "Our transition from Voyager to Alma proceeded very smoothly, as did the
integration of Alma with Summon.
We have great confidence in Ex Libris and its commitment to deliver
more service enhancements for both Alma and Summon. Our library staff and users
will benefit greatly from these solutions' rich roadmaps and the Ex
Libris team's continued collaboration with customers."
"It is exciting for us to see Eastern
Michigan University upgrade to Alma and go live. I would like to thank the
library for its close collaboration with our implementation team,"
remarked Eric Hines, president of Ex
Libris North America. "This particular project is an important
milestone, paving the way for the many Alma-Summon customers that
are going live in the coming months and all customers that
implement this integrated solution in the future."
