BP PLC (BP, BP.LN) Thursday began the process of shutting down the same key gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking unit, or FCCU, that began restarting after five months of down time earlier this week.

Emissions associated with the restart of FCCU No. 3, which was taken out of service in early January, were reported to Texas state environmental regulators on Monday. The most recent filing said emissions associated with shutting the same unit for repairs.

The filing didn't specify how long the repairs would take; a BP representative wasn't immediately available to comment and, typically, doesn't comment on day-to-day refining operations.

BP's Texas City refinery has capacity to process 406,000 barrels of crude oil a day.
