Most Major Currencies Trade Quietly In Asia

01:28, 30th July 2012

(RTTNews) - Most major currencies are trading quietly in Asian deals on Monday as investors stayed on the sidelines ahead of the U.S. and European central bank meetings due this week.

Though the yen gained in early deals while the kiwi eased, the moves were limited and the pairs stayed quiet due to lack of cues.

The euro is now worth 1.2293 against the US dollar, 96.32 against the yen, 0.7819 against the pound and 1.2013 against the franc.

The dollar is trading at 78.35 against the yen, 1.5726 against the pound and 0.9773 against the franc.

Looking ahead, U.K. mortgage approvals and the M4 money supply data for June and the Eurozone economic confidence index for July are slated for release in the European session.

There are no major economic reports due from the U.S. today.
