APHZOMBIE - Wed, 03 Jan 07 :

I very much doubt that there will be life in this stock either b4 or after a trading statement. Sales of iDVD's haven't exactly set the retailing world alight (despite all the advertising getting everyone excited) and the £1.5 million DVDExtra licensing revenues as 'expectations' (stated by ZOO back in April 06) will imo be a difficult figure to achieve. I reckon ZOOtech needed between 5-10 big-selling products (each selling 300-500k units) using DVDExtra to even nudge that expected revenue figure, however it looks like WWTBAM was still their flagship product and if the charts are anything to go by it has not done as well as last year. The only other big-seller looks like Question of Sport. At least both were developed by ZIV so the publishing revenues will come in handy.

A number of other concerns hinted to by CEO Stuart Green in the interims look like they're taking their toll on the SP. For example their much-heralded new TAS software is already delayed. Should have been released in December 06 and Green's statement that ZOO are "expecting to shortly release TAS" hints that it will be further delayed by a number of months (otherwise he would surely have said "expect to release next month, or February, or even March. Instead it sounds like TAS is so far away from commercial release that not even an approximate date or month can be given). Green has also dropped any mention of profitability from the trading statement which could indicate further lack of confidence. His warning that short-term trading relies on iDVD sales just about squares that circle.
