MSAR technology allows Heavy Acidic Crude Oils residue to
be used for power generation
MSAR is competitive with gas, coal and fuel oil
Negotiating with major European power generators,
demonstration programmes have commenced.
Supply arrangements planned to commence 3Q 2005.
European market assessed at 12 million tonnes MSAR per
year by 2010 this equates to 290,000 bopd heavy oil
production.
Process can add $3-7/bbl
and
MSAR Plant can be established within a year
Conversion and capital costs are low,
- US$10 million for 12,000 bopd unit
Power market can support 290,000 bopd heavy oil production
- >10% of the current UK oil production
Current discovered heavy oil resources yet to be developed,
would sustain this level of production for 10 years plus
