South London brewer Young's may end a 174 year tradition of brewing its own beers and outsource production to a rival.
Young's, whose ales include Waggledance and Winter Warmer, is preparing to sell its historic Ram Brewery in Wandsworth to property developers for up to £100 million. Wembley stadium buyer Multiplex is tipped as a buyer.
Young's boss Stephen Goodyear is considering whether it makes sense to build
another brewery close by, or exit brewing altogether and use a third party.
Outsourcing is catching on . Wolverhampton and Dudley breweries has a contract to make Bass Ale on behalf of its Belgian owner, InBev.
