Bayerische Motoren W BMW still sees 2006 pretax profit of 4 bln eur - CEO


FRANKFURT (AFX) - Bayerische Motoren Werke AG still expects to post a 2006
pretax profit of 4 bln eur, the company's new chief executive Norbert Reithofer
told Sueddeutsche Zeitung's weekend edition.
At the end of November, BMW had reaffirmed its forecast for full year pretax
profit of 4 bln eur, following the recent strong performance of the euro.
In 2005, BMW posted a pretax profit of 3.287 bln eur.
Reithofer said BMW has achieved an increase in productivity of 5 pct or more
annually.
He also said BMW won't have to consider cutting jobs as long as the company
is growing.
