NEWS BRIEF: MTV Networks (MTVN) is setting up a new unit dedicated to creating entertainment for mobile phones. MTVN Mobile Media will handle partnerships and content distribution for the company.
The division will be headed up by Greg Clayman, who will report into Mika Salmi, the company's recently-appointed president of global digital media, as well as president of MTVN affiliate sales and marketing, Nicole Browning.
MTVN already publishes more than 600 clips and 30 hours of mobile video each month in US alone, but the establishment of a specialist unit is designed to coordinate these activities through a central body.
