YooMedia to Launch its Avago Interactive TV Channel on ntl
Interactive TV content and services company, YooMedia, says that it has signed an agreement with UK cable operator, ntl, to launch its live, studio-presented interactive betting and gaming channel, Avago, on ntl's digital platform, where it will be offered as part of the operator's Base and Family packs. The channel will debut on ntl in early 2006, and YooMedia says that it has also reached an agreement with the cable operator to launch a number of new video- and graphics-rich play-for-fun and play-for-real games behind the channel over the course of the year. The deal means that Avago will now be distributed on four different types of platform: cable, satellite TV (via Sky), the Internet, and mobile phones. YooMedia's proprietary backend systems and e-wallet technology allow customers of the channel to access their wagering accounts via TV, the Web and mobiles. "Expanding our popular interactive gaming and betting channel, Avago, onto ntl's platform is a breakthrough for the Group," YooMedia group managing director, Neil MacDonald, said in a prepared statement. "With over 200,000 registered account holders, Avago is gaining recognition all the time. We believe that this deal will contribute greatly to its continued success."
