The whole point of a good share option scheme, is it provides incentives for key employees, Macdonald, Managers, Techies.........how would they react if the committee had set ther options at 8p? Aside from the technology, YOO's biggest asset is the knowledge base contained within the minds of employees.
With a company like YOO, it's vital the staff remain highly motivated at all times, particulary over the next year or two, which are crucial. What kind of motivation would an option award of 8p send out? Are you thick or what?
Considering it's from an 'unapproved scheme' I reckon it's a fair price. The comittee could if they wished, awarded the options at a lower price, but chose to be fair to all stakeholders.
Not sure whether YOO are still in a closed period. You appear to think the RNS means they are not. I not so sure, as it's not a direct director purchase. but an award decided by a company comittee. Maybe an expert can clarify?
