spreadrisk: interesting.
Also timely question on spreadbets vs brokers. The very thing I have been thinking about and planning to investigate . I am not very hopeful that the spreadbetters can offer an attractive deal but will keep an open mind.
My normal trade size is 5x, so the commission works out at only 0.35 p for me per share equivalent .
The normal quoted broker option spreads are 2-4 p and I manage to trade inside those spreads most of the time by placing limit orders and waiting for a fill. The spreadbetters will add extra pennies to the normal 2-4p spread which clearly creates larger trading overheads than the broker commission.
The tax angle also matters, of course .
IG & Cantor do option spreads .
You must have been close by during the fireworks since I was standing next to queen-to-be Camilla :-)
