Biff: Ta for info.
Jinxed them? They are already jinxed. They are trying to play hardball but they are at a disadvantage in the bargaining game since their time horizon is so much shorter than mine and they need to trade to earn a crust. As said above, I have noted lately that they try to hold the line on the quoted spread to improve their chance of winning. Before I usually could get a reasonable offer inside the spread accepted on the 'phone . Now I often have to wait for a limit order to be filled which means waiting until the inevitable daily fluctuations of share price have triggered a trade . I do get the impression that most of the time the counter-parties to my trades are market makers rather than ordinary punters . If so , I should have sent a Xmas hamper for them to Euronext to make sure that they don't starve .
