RETAIL DECISIONS (RTD). Down on the week from 128p to 125p. No news this week.
NEWMARK SECURITIES (NWT).Up on the week from 1.25p to 1.35p. No news this week.
WOLFSON (WLF). Up on the week from 282p to 299.5p. No news this week.
GW Pharmasuticals (GWP) Down on the week from 115p to 103p...This week some very GOOD news & some quite negative news. Personally I took the view that in the short term the bad news would impact on the SP & I closed my £3.200/1p Spread bet @ 110p ave.
Which in itself helped bring down the SP as others were also taking a similar view. During the week EVOs came out with a Buy Rec @ 130p but had no knowledge of the inquest outcome which was released Friday.
LONDON (AFX) - GW Pharmaceuticals PLC has signed up Spanish group Almirall
to market its cannabis-based pain relieving drug Sativex in Europe.
The deal, which excludes the UK, will give GW a "significant share" of long
term product revenues and possible milestone payments worth up to 46 mln stg,
including a 12 mln stg signing fee.
The payments are contingent on the successful completion of ongoing pivotal
final stage phase III trials, regulatory approvals and the achievement of sales
targets.
Privately-owned Almirall is Spain's largest pharmaceutical company.
Sativex, which is administered via a spray into the mouth, is in phase III
trials for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis symptoms, neuropathic pain and
cancer pain.
Under the agreement GW will complete those trials, but GW said it expects to
collaborate with Almirall on the development of Sativex in other indications,
which the Spanish group will help pay for.
The signing fee boosts GW's cash pile to 22 mln stg.
"As one of the leading specialist European pharmaceutical companies,
Almirall is exactly the profile of partner that we have been seeking for
Sativex," chairman Dr Geoffrey Guy said in a statement.
"GW's commercial strategy is to maximise the value of Sativex by retaining a
significant interest in revenues from product sales whilst at the same time
generating sizeable cash payments in the short term to meet GW's financial
requirements.

LONDON (AFX) - GW Pharmaceuticals PLC said the death of a patient who had
taken part in a clinical trial involving its cannabis-based pain relieving drug
Sativex does not raise any new or additional safety concerns about Sativex.
An inquest into the death of 69-year-old diabetic Rene Anderson, who had
taken part in a Sativex clinical trial over a three-week period during October
2003, showed that "an idiosyncratic reaction....was at least a significant
contributory factor to the initiation of the patient's illness."
The term idiosyncratic reaction was defined by the Coroner as unusual,
unexpected and individual, the company said.
It added: "While the case is very sad by its nature, GW does not believe it
raises any new or additional safety concerns about Sativex."
"Whatever the sad cause of Mrs Anderson's death, it does not mean that
Sativex is dangerous for patients even if it may have been one of several
factors to have caused Mrs Anderson's initial confusion," GW said.
ELAN (ELA). Up on the week from 10.63 euros to 11.49 euros. No news this week.
CENES PHARM (CEN) Up on the week from 6.5p to 7.75p. A new long term addition to my portfolio. I took out a £5.000/1p Bet @ 7.25p.
LONDON (AFX) - CeNeS Pharmaceuticals PLC said chairman Alan Goodman bought
500,000 shares in the company at 8 pence each yesterday, while chief executive
Neil Clark bought 120,000 shares at the same price.
Following the transactions, Goodman holds 15.8 mln shares in the company, or
a 3.9 pct stake, while Clark holds 434,968 shares, or a 0.1 pct stake.
CeNeS added that non-executive director Ronald Irwin also bought 60,000
shares in the company yesterday at 8 pence each, bringing his total holding to
404,333 shares.
*********************************************************
These two are both spread bets for me & are speculative oil/gas plays.
PETREL RESOURCES (PET). Down on the week from 52p to 51p... No news this week.
FORTUNE OIL (FTO). Up on the week from 5.88p to 5.97p. No news this week.
*********************************************************
These three are my longer term plays....ie I should not (in hindsight) have bought them when I did....but am happy to keep them....The main reason for keeping them is that I bought them for my SIP & cannot offset CGT losses.
Lesson learnt in that department. "Only safe plays should go into SIPs & ISA's".
Scotty (SCO). Down on the week from 1.7p to 1.65p.
Meriden Group (MRD) Flat on the week at 0.45p. No news this week.
Caspian Hldgs. (CSH). Down on the week from 8p to 7.5p. No news this week.
