I fully appreciate what you say. The problem is turnaround time and that is dependent upon apron size and apron access. Passenger aircraft are scheduled months in advance and cannot take the risk of being stuck on a small apron whilst some cargo is unloaded from another aircraft. Frankly I will be surprised if scheduled services are operated from Manston in the near future. I think it would be far more likely to be charters.

Another delaying factor is the planning permission. It takes a long time when you take into account the preparation of the applications, the planning meetings, public inquiries atc.
