Yeah, but how do you judge the impact on sales if customers have to wait to get served?
I've walked out of Boots three times in my last four visits because I wasn't prepared to wait for 7 or 8 minutes to get served.
Now, I don't even bother trying to shop there.
1400 stores x (say) £50 gross profit per customer per annum x number of customers per store pissed off with queues , say, 2000 = lost profit of £140m!
Cost of employing one additional person at each store: 1400 x 1800hrs pa x £10ph =£25m!
Boots take note.
