We do have to keep in the back of our minds that 2/3rds of the sales are now from the UK (1/3 from the USA) so gains here will have a disproportionate effect on the group performance the fact that sales moved up at all during the first part of the year when the economy could not have been more dire means that (if the economy is genuinely now on the turn in the labour markets per the info above) for the last quarter of this year sales may be better than we expect i guess it all depends on margin pressures that csv keep referring to:
uk position as at 30/6/2:
"However, sales in the second quarter showed a relative improvement, increasing by 0.1% over those for the first quarter, and this improvement has continued into the third quarter. The gross margin percentage reduced slightly, being 0.2 percentage points below the level for the last quarter of 2001 and 1.9 percentage points below the figure achieved for the first half of 2001"
