In footballing terms I was sad to say goodbye to 2005. Liverpool supporters were blessed for the umpteenth time with having the best year of any British club.

Credit to the chavs for winning the prem but that night in Istanbul was worth five premierships imo. Not just Liverpool fans but fans of every club in the world will never forget the greatest European final of all time.

I still haven't come to terms with it. I still have to check I wasn't dreaming when I think about it. We did win it didn't we?

The order in premiership football is changing. Chelsea are firmly established as the team to beat but being managed by a lunatic gives us all hope that the rifts at Chelsea might grow and lead to a handicapping of Abrahmovic' wallet.

"Play for yourself again and I'll drop you" says the 'special one', after Cole (generally regarded by the sane as one of the most improved players in the prem) passed to a teammate in front of an open goal. Work that one out?

If (and it's a big if) Chelsea do implode, where is the competition?

Arse, for all their travails this season, aren't that far away but appear to be waiting on their young players to mature. United seem to be going through a period of near death energy. Clearly an average team, sparked only by a scouser, managed by a guy I have always thought overated. The poor darlings at Old Trafford are happy with him though, as after 26 years in the wilderness he got the richest club in the world, at the time, a bit of silverware. Without that richest tag; how's he doing now?

We have higher ambitions at Liverpool. WE don't just settle for domestic success, we want it all.
