After many months of correspondance between myself, SG, LSE and online brokers, SG decided to add a statement that their live prices are only indictive. The LSE confirmed that because of volume contraints (will be rectified in June+2007), prices are not always updated although they could not explain why this constraint often appears to be selective. Online brokers confirmed live quotes come directly from SG (albeit sometimes via a third party service - not the LSE) but cannot explain why on occassions live quoted prices do not mirror the SG live web prices, hence the added statement, which still does not explain why for example VOD used to have to move almost 4 ticks (1p) before I could see a change in the Online Broker's live quote.
Net result, although each movement of the underlying equity should see a relative movement in the CW whether that be up or down, obtaining the correct price is a gamble!!!!
