Zengas, you seem to have a patchy picture of Russia and Gazprom. Russia continues to supply gas to the nasty little dictatorship called Belarus at an even lower price than the Ukraine was paying. Russia is simply indulging in big power politics under the illusion that it is still a significant player in the world. BTW the Ukraine is not part of Russia, which seemed to be what you were saying.
Why on earth you would want to invest in a company, whose strategy and operations are controlled from the Kremlin is also a mystery to me.
