A teen-age girl brings her new boyfriend home to meet her parents, who are appalled by his appearance. He has obscene tattoos and a pierced nose, and is wearing a leather jacket and motorcycle boots.
The parents are nice to the young man, but later take their daughter aside and confess their concern.
"Dear," says the mother diplomatically, "he doesn't seem very nice."
"Mom," the daughter replies confidently, "if he wasn't nice, why would he be doing 500 hours of community service?"
