Hello, my friend. You are right about the placing shares being jobbed. Not all punters can get out, however, since their new shares won't hit CREST until Dec. 29th and many halfwit brokers will not allow clients to sell for that settlement just because, physically, the shareholding is not "actually there yet." They hate selling that which one does not own, even though VOG have given an undertaking to make delivery!

Therefore, a few more may sell on 29th for T + 3 or +2. After that, the specialists may give a run to the very stock sold to them and the people jumping up and down with their 17 point profit might well find that it would have paid to have been patient.
