montyhedge: initially I was worried about Gazprom being used as a 'blunt plitical weapon' by Russia but later on in the article it cites that Putin may have plans to allow foreing investors to hold upto 49% of the company. Wouldn't that place Gazprom in a better position than it is now because foreign experts/managers may run the company better? However, you are right about the overhanging political potholes but that has been cited in other analytical pieces.
