Namibian Resources East Saltztal sampling 'encouraging'; may boost ops
LONDON (AFX) - AIM-Listed Namibian Resources PLC said initial sampling at
its East Saltztal mine was "very encouraging", so the company is moving a second
screen to the area to begin mining by the end of January.
The company said it hopes two screens operating will generate enough
material to justify the purchase of a second 10 ton-per-hour/hr dense medium
separation plant by July and possibly move to a second shift.
Sufficient resources, have been identified to be mined for the next two to
three years, the company said.
At West Saltztal, Namibian Resources said production in the nine months to
November exceeded estimates, adding that output there should continue for
another 12 weeks.
It said output at West Saltztal was 4,577 carats with an average size of
0.60 carats per stone. Between 10 and 15 pct of stones have weighed over 1 carat
and six stones in excess of 2 carats have been mined, the largest being 2.60
carats.
