Vectura signs US development deal for asthma therapy


LONDON (AFX) - Vectura Group PLC said it has struck a US collaboration and
development deal with a "leading international pharmaceutical company" for its
combination asthma therapy, VR315.
In a statement, the British drug developer said it will receive a share of
profits from all sales, as well as up to 63 mln usd upon achievement of certain
milestones. Development costs will be shared.
The product will be developed as a generic combination product using
Vectura's GyroHaler dry powder inhaler.
Vectura will oversee development of the product for the US market and set up
commercial manufacture and supply of the GyroHaler device.
The partner meanwhile will be responsible for the clinical development,
manufacture and marketing of the product for the US market.
Vectura signed a deal for VR315 covering the European market in April.
