URBIUM SET FOR A ROARING XMAS
renixus - Sat, 21 Dec 02 :
Yep, I have seen nothing to indicate otherwise. I only started looking at thsi company quite recently. The more I look into it, the more impressed I become, especially with senior management decision making, they're active.
I read they have pulled out of investing in Madrid but not Dublin. Being in Madrid recently for a weekend I would have to agree with this, the busiest places were Irish bars (of which there were hundreds) and the type of clubs that attract very young crowds (girls as young as 14/16, rather than 25-40 age group). Saturday was quite a busy night, but on other nights some places on the main district were completely empty. Not an easy market.
Dublin on the other hand, is a potential goldmine. Several nightclubs have open there over the last 5 years, which have done well out of copying London trends. The only problem Urbium will have is competing with those places that have copied their formula in Dublin already. But then again, the original is always the best.
By the way, Madrid is great place, has a lot more to offer than good bars / nightclubs !
