Constantine still getting panned in the screenings.
Constantine Look Dec. 30, 2004
Either it's the smartest marketing ploy the filmmakers could ever think to do, or it's the dumbest move that they will never live down, but we got a scoop from yet another insider who's attended another prescreening of Keanu Reeves' CONSTANTINE.
I say smart move, because all the special screening's they've had has been creating awfully big hype. I say the dumbest move, because most of the feedback coming out about this one is that it's... well... shitty. Sure, there's good aspects to it... but overall, don't wasteyour time and money, and just wait for it to rent on DVD if you really care that much. Here's a summary of what Clark had to say:
"The movie has it’s good points, which is the performance of Rachel Weisz and the stunning special effects but the bad far out weight the good with a tired performance by Keanu Reeves, some unintentional funny scenes with some really bad dialog and a plot development that should have been left on the cutting room floor."
Given, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one (hey, look at us!)- but this reivewer has summed up what most who've had the opportunity to check it out early has been. But action horror comic movies are never really embraced by critics, especially the ones starring Keanu Reeves, so who knows, this one could be great... or, it could be shite. CONSTANTINE hits theaters Fenruary 18th.
