Then Unite started to convert empty office blocks in the centre of town to student accommodation. Students loved it, right in the Centre, often over a night club.
Abandoned traditional letts for much more expensive, smaller but trendier rooms in town. Also demanded new kitchens, bathrooms, and furniture from IKEA that can be thrashed in less than a year.
Decided in the end that if I couldn't beat the bastards, I'd better join them.
