ULTRASIS - THE NEW PHASE
The_Analyst - Tue, 02 Jan 07 :
luffness,
I fully agree that the purchases will be by the individual PCT's. The point I was trying to make was that throughout the past 18 months ULT HAVE been making minor sales as well as getting renewals of licenses. Now that the PCT's know about the joint negotiations, any independent purchases will have ceased in anticipation of the current negotiations. I fully expect ULT to be very busy soon after the framework agreement. They can then go and knock on all the other PCT's doors that didn't register their interest with PASA. Hence my caution that the past 6 months will have been 'quiet'.
Here's a statement from the accounts (page 5):
".....directors have considered the risks and uncertainties posed by the possibility of the Group negotiating with the NHS a national contract for BtB. Whilst conclusion of a national contract would be seen by the directors as a positive step for the Group, they are mindful that its negotiation may hinder new sales in the short term, while some PCT's await the finalisation of the contract. The Group is, therefore, taking steps to minimise any impact on revenue that may result by continuing sales efforts to new customer PCT's, maximising renewals, focusing greater activity in the private sector, including corporate and retail markets and pursuing new opportunities in the North American markets."
So, the next 6-monthly accounts will demonstrate what and how effective these steps have been, i.e., the REAL skills of the management will be tested imo. Although, rather than putting all eggs in one basket, I'd have expected them to be marketing our products to the wider audience from the outset, especially the USA. No mention of Healthmedia JV in the results ?!!!
