Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
The idea behind Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is that if you can help people to change their thoughts, this will help them to change the way they feel. It is used to treat a whole range of problems from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, phobias and panic attacks, to stress at work.
Psychotherapy has traditionally been difficult to receive on the NHS, but the government is now hoping to increase access to CBT. So how does CBT work? Who should make use of it? And to what extent is it a 'quick fix'?
