UK House Prices -The next bubble waiting to burst ??
COLSMITH - Sat, 31 Dec 05 :
Bel - accept point but when I was down under a few years back there were some significant social and crime issues between the European in NZ (and others who came in) and the indigineous population.
Maybe its still not cosy. If not I suppose its not surprising as all the
landmass was originally considered to be theirs but as they didn't have the same concept of legal ownership as the Europens the legal owners became the new guys. Not too dissimlar to the native American Indian and the Europenas - and look a the US now on moral highground! Maybe in both places this ownership issue is a smouldering match who knows. In fact nearer home in Scotland (a good read (is the Clearance of the Highlands) the same sort of issue lurks - but there the new owners (19th century) made sure those on the land were moved overseas.
Anyhow as most place in the world there is the good bad and ugly and issues and both Oz and NZ have penty of the good.
