In simple terms for simpletons:whilst interest rates have decreased this has been offset by higher lending:net result lower and lower disposable incomes.


Halway there Hughey, the higher cost of housing has been offset by lower rates........the conclusion is just wrong - it should've read net result, similar levels of disposable income.

People's levels of disposable income is not necessarily connected to their debt levels......it's a lack of financial prudence.

Sadly people have been sucked into the 'must have' culture, and I reckon that a lot of people who are in the most debt could be given another 500 quid a month and they'd still find a way to spend it, and further increase their debt.
