UK House Prices -The next bubble waiting to burst ??

Anyone remember the great variant CJD epidemic that never happened? Or, more recently, the SARS pandemic that was going to kill loads of people? Or even AIDS, which, remember, was an equal threat to everyone in the population, and was going to kill millions of Brits....

Forgive me, therefore, if I believe this whole "bird flu" thing is a great racket, beloved by scientists and doctors (it makes them feel important) and the media (gives them something to talk about). Personally, I am bored stiff by all the coverage, and whenever it comes on to the news, I immediately switch it off.

There really are far more important things to worry about!

PS: And I bet we don't have a really cold winter either, and that in 6 months time the media will have quietly forgotten all their doom-laden prophecies about widespread power cuts, factory closures, massive gridlock on the motorways etc.
etc.

Let's face it, the weather forecasters often can't get the next day's forecast correct, let alone what will happen in several months' time.
